Let's just answer it: in New Jersey, a yard card display typically runs $100 to $250.
That's a wide range, and the spread isn't random. Here's what actually moves the number — and where some companies quietly pad the bill.
What Drives the Price
1. Display size
The biggest factor. A simple name-and-greeting setup uses fewer pieces than a full display with a giant age number, themed flair, and accent signs. More pieces means more material, more design time, and a longer install.
2. Themed flair
Flair sets — dinosaurs, princesses, sports, tropical, construction, emojis — are usually priced as add-ons. Ours are $25 per set, and you can stack them. This is where most people upgrade, and honestly it's where the display goes from "nice" to "whoa."
3. Rental length
Standard is 24 hours. Want it up for the weekend? Expect an extension fee. We charge $25 per extra day.
4. Timing
Booking three days out is not the same as booking three weeks out. Most companies charge a rush fee for short-notice bookings — ours is $20 under 72 hours, and it's subject to availability. Graduation season and summer LBI weekends are the two windows where "we'll just book it next week" stops working.
What Should Be Free (But Sometimes Isn't)
Here's the part worth reading carefully.
Delivery, setup, and pickup should be included. Some companies quote you an attractive base price and then add a delivery fee, a setup fee, and occasionally a pickup fee — and suddenly your $95 display is $160.
Ask directly: "Is that the total, or are there delivery and setup charges on top?"
At Swell Signs, delivery, setup, and pickup are free everywhere we serve. Full stop. The price we quote is the price you pay.

How Payment Works
You request a quote — free, no obligation. We confirm the details and send you a quote. If you approve it, you pay a 50% deposit to lock the date, and the balance before setup. Nothing is charged until you say yes.
Is It Worth It?
Compare it to the rest of what a party costs. A cake runs $40–$80. A balloon arch, $150–$300. A bounce house, $200–$400 for the day.
A yard card sits comfortably in that range and does something the others don't: it's the first thing they see, before anyone's said happy birthday, before a single present is opened. It sets the whole day up.
And it's the only one the entire street gets to enjoy.
Getting a Real Number
Every display is different, so the honest answer to "what will mine cost" is: tell us the occasion and we'll tell you exactly. Request a free quote — it takes two minutes and nothing is charged.
